MEET ANITA MCMILLAN
AND
"MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE"

Anita McMillan launched Make A Joyful Noise Performing Arts Youth Outreach Ministry on May 10, 1994 after much prayer and planning. As a mother of three children who are now grown, she understands the need to provide positive activities for teens. Anita also realizes that teaching young people to focus on God is most essential. She is extremely committed to her ministry, endowed by God with great creativity, she does not shirk from hard work. the elaborate costumes worn by the group are made by her as well as doing the host of other activities associated with running the group, running her household, and helping her husband Troy to run their businesses.

Make a Joyful Noise gained its 501(c)(3) status in 1994. The group is a non-profit,non-denominational organization not affiliated with a specific church. MAJN has grown to over 50 youths. These young people live in Raleigh, Hillsborough, Durham, Cary, Garner and Clayton. Make A Joyful Noise is open to youth 7-18 years of age. Youth of all surrounding areas, including all ethnic backgrounds are welcome to perform and 18 to adults to be staff help. The only requirement to be a member of this group is "TRUE COMMITTMENT".

Each year MAJN travels on a 9 day performance tour costing over 25,000 dollars. Most past funding of MAJN has been made by love offerings from praise performances and the fundraising capabilites of the group.

For their 1999 Washington/New York Tour fundraiser, MAJN presented Debutantes and a Grand Ball. Dewayne Washington of the Pittsburg Steelers was the MC for the evening. For their 2000 Florida Tour, the primary fundraiser was the "Feel The Music Celebration" featuring various local artists, held at North Carolina Central University. The 2001 New York Tour fundraiser, presented the gentlemen's Botillion and dinner. Gerald Hinton and the New Redeemers where the featured artist for the event. They also held car washes, sold Christmas cards and had fundraising skate parties to raise the needed funds each year. The 2002 Florida tour was fu0nded by a sponsorship campaign. The 2003 tour will be a six state tour which consist of North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio. We appreciate any financial donations and they are tax deductible.
